Reader Appreciation Award

Reader Appreciation Award

The ever delightful Mum of One has given me an award, yay! Gosh..erm…wow, I don’t know what to say. It’s just so unexpected, I haven’t prepared a speech. It’s just such an honour! *sniffle* I’d like to thank my mum, my goldfish…the postman…erm…PG Tips for being such a big support… *starts looking a bit uncomfortable*…erm… Ladybird books for teaching me to read and of course finally my children for removing the possibility of social activity outside the home which encouraged me to read blogs in the first place. So…yeah…thanks…*dashes off to the green room for wine*

Hold on a minute, I have to answer questions? Jeez! *shakes fist in general direction of Mum of One* Ok, here goes

Where do you most of your writing/blogging?

Excellent, an easy one, right here on the sofa. Generally with the TV on and a cup of tea.

What books were your childhood favourites?

I read lots of Enid Blyton when I was little, Mallory Towers and the Famous Five, and then when I was a bit older I read dozens of spy novels like Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Day of the Jackal. I read all the time when I was young but have hardly opened a book since E was born, sad really.

Who is your favourite fictional character?

I love Thursday Next from Jasper Fforde’s ‘The Eyre Affair‘ series. Go take a look if you haven’t read them, just brilliant!

What is you favourite time of day and why?

Oooo, that one’s trickier, probably story time when the boys have been wrestled into pjs and all four of us squish onto E’s little bed for five minutes reading. Except when E picks one of his torturous Bob the Builder books that seem to go on forever and require me to do a ridiculous Italian accent for Mr Sabatini. Luckily T has started eating them now so soon there won’t be any of those left. *evil mum cackle*

Have you ever googled yourself and been surprised at what you’ve found?

Well I hadn’t until you asked that but I have now. Luckily nothing exciting although a Catherine Parrott was on a convict transport called The Eliza in 1829. Not me though, honest.

Who would play me in a movie of my life?

I’ll go with Sarah Michelle Geller, because we’re both short and blonde and spend our time kicking evil’s arse (well, 2 out of 3).

What is your dream car?

Easy, one that is the size of a Fiat Panda on the outside but big enough for the mountains of kids stuff/pushchairs/rubbish/shopping that I need to fit in it. Yeah, a Tardis car, where can I get one of those?

Who/What/Where was your first proper kiss?

Eek! My mum reads this so just to be clear: I have never touched a boy, no way, no how, never ever ever!

Now I get to nominate some other bloggy types to show my appreciation for them occasionally reading my waffle. Now of course I don’t have favourites, I love you all equally (except for you, you’re just odd!) so I’m going for three who have happened to stop by recently.

Firstly Annie from Mammasaurus, because not only is she super good fun but I am constantly amazed that she manages to fit in reading and sharing any other blogs when she has so many to keep running herself. She’s a legend!

Secondly Emily from A Mummy Too, because she was very nice about my Tuna with Tomato, Olive & Caper Dressing recipe despite being a veggie. She has loads of great recipes on her blog with mouthwatering pictures so do have a look.

And finally Ella from Purplemum, because she attempted my Savoury Halloween Cheese Biscuits (and took us on a mad hunt across central London looking for Japanese karaoke)

[This year I am again going to attempt NaBloPoMo (or National Blog Post Month) which means I'll be trying to post everyday for the month of November (please don't get bored of me!). On 7th November last year I was sharing a tune to get you up on the dancefloor for Mix-tape Monday.]
