Today – My family bucket list destinations – the top one hundred places I want to visit with the kids before they leave home.
I turn 40 this year. I’m happy to report I’m feeling pretty sanguine about my milestone birthday. No existential angst or desire to buy a sports car (not as yet anyway).
My only slight panic has come from the reminder that it doesn’t leave us all that long to travel as a family. With less than eight years until E is likely to be heading off to Uni and so many places I still want us to go it’s only just hit me that I might have to get a bit organised to make that work.
I thought in honour of my 40th I might try making a list of 40 bucket list destinations I wanted to try and visit together but once I started that was nowhere near enough. In the end, I’ve managed to get it down to 100. What do you think? Have I missed anything huge?
I’ve tried not to over think it too much and have ended up with a selection of cities, regions and countries depending on how clear I am on exactly where we want to go. There’s certainly a lot more research to be done on some of them and I’d imagine some will end up being swapped in the future but I think it’s a good start.
