Today – An easy recipe for homemade Terry’s chocolate orange fudge, YUMMY!
Hi, I am Jenny and I normally blog over at Mummy Mishaps where I mostly feature posts about my life as a Mummy to my two boys, Burton aged 4 and Jenson aged 2 1/2 as well as recipes especially of the cake variety as I do love cake!
While Cat is busy at work she is allowing me to be a guest on her wonderful blog (eeeeek!). I thought I would share a recipe for some homemade chocolate orange fudge which is quick, easy and simple to make perfect for busy Mum’s like Cat who have a sweet tooth.
I have fond memories of trying to break them open by banging them down hard on my bedside table to open them up and allow me to devour the delicious chocolate orange segments. This year we were lucky to have been given 3 so I decided to have a go at making some homemade fudge.
Having read somewhere a recipe which uses only 3 ingredients (Nigella, I think) to make fudge, I decided to use a chocolate orange instead of plain chocolate. I hoped it would make for a lovely flavour, which it does!
Terry’s Chocolate Orange Fudge
1/2 can of condensed milk
1 chocolate orange, broken up into segments (or add orange oil to add a hint of orange to milk chocolate)
15g unsalted butter
1 chocolate orange, broken up into segments (or add orange oil to add a hint of orange to milk chocolate)
15g unsalted butter
1 x 1lb loaf tin, lined with parchment paper
Then all you need to do is:
- First, place the chocolate , the butter and the condensed milk into a non stick pan and melt them all together over a moderate heat and stir occasionally
- Next, taking care not to over cook the mixture, remove from the heat as soon as it is all melted together and stir to make a smooth and glossy sauce
- Pour into the lined dish and place into the refrigerator over night to chill
- Finally, when ready, simply peel off the parchment paper and cut into bite sized squares. The ‘fudge’ is very sticky and gooey so take care when cutting. I dipped my knife into hot water to make the slicing and cutting easier.
It tastes sooooo nice, just like a soft and gooey chocolate orange really only in squares! This quantity makes approximately 20 pieces. The remaining fudge needs to be kept in a sealed tub in the fridge to keep its shape. It should last for a week or so. However, use parchment paper to stop the fudge squares from sticking to one another
