It occurred to me over the weekend that so far all my promises have been to baby T and it’s about time three year old E got in on the act. T doesn’t need one this week anyway as he is more than happy with life in the baby cage (I do get him out sometimes, honest) and is now even trying to pull himself up on the bars to stand. This is an entirely unexpected consequence of the baby cage and will teach me for thinking that putting him in it may give me some peace of mind. Anyway, back to my promise for E inspired by his return to preschool tomorrow:
This week my darling I promise… that I won’t keep forgetting to go through your reading book with you in the evenings so we have to whizz through it in the morning while daddy is putting your shoes on. I fear you may not have been getting the most from the experience when I’m speed reading on your way out of the front door and I will try and be more organised.
If you’d like to confess your failings to the blogosphere head on over to Mum of One and linky up.

Thanks. We love a bit of a read normally. It’s just his school books that I always forget about.

That sounds very familiar to me? My younger boys are 6 and 7 and trying to fit in reading with everything else that we have to do. It’s not a failure though, just trying to cope with the challenges of family life!! ( at least that’s what I tell myself!!)

I’ve just resigned myself to being in trouble at parents evening. It’ll be just like my school life all over again.

I am going to have that problem next year when my 4 year starts school. Adding homework into our already busy schedule is going to be a challenge!
catparrott says
I’m told next term we’ll have homework as well as reading. That’s never going to work!

Nice promise. I’m usually knackered in the evenings, how do you do it?

That remains to be seen!
