You really should. It’s so much easier than I thought it would be. I’ve been doing it a couple of years now. I cheat a bit and get the baby plants from the garden centre rather than growing them from seeds so it’s really just a matter of compost and water (and keeping the snails off, little buggers!)
My favourite smell in the whole world is tomato plants. Have lots of good memories associated with those. Well done for growing such a bumper crop – the only time I tried, they died of blight! 🙁
They look superb. Just don’t have the climate up here to grow them (and 5 kids would ensure that pretty much none of them would make it to the kitchen!)

Wow, that is impressive! I always plan to grow my own vegetables but I never do – I wouldn’t know where to start! x

lucky you…I have 5 tomatoes this year, and 3 of them together I stood on top of a 50p piece to get a photo of them

Ha ha, well quality is more important than quantity, hey? I’ve got hundreds rippening but they haven’t grown very big either.

E has had quite a few. He won’t eat them normally but because he thinks they’re a treat if they’re from the plant suddenly he can’t get enough.
Anthea Barton (@BlueBearWood) says
Luscious … they wouldn’t even get to the house. My girls eat them like sweeties!
