When it comes to choosing paint colours I have a foolproof system. I walk up and down the paint aisles for what seems like hours picking tins up and putting them back again while the kids run around causing havoc and attempting to escape to the power tools aisle. Every 10 minutes Hubs says ‘what about cream?’ and in the end I usually go home with the first one I picked up anyway before deciding it’s not quite right and doing the whole thing again the next weekend. No wait…that’s not actually a very good approach, is it?
Luckily Homebase have produced some advice to help next time:
So next time you’re decorating make sure you check out their Home of Colour paint range with 97 colours including 9 new for this season. As well as emulsion there is also kitchen & bathroom, one coat, garden and duracoat paint so there’s something for every job. To give you a helping hand with your makeover the kind folk at Homebase are giving away £150 of vouchers to spend in store. To enter just leave me a comment sharing what name you would give a paint colour you designed and record your entry in the rafflecopter widget below along with any additional entries you would like to make by sharing, tweeting etc. The giveaway will run until Monday 26th May 2014 and is open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Winners will be contacted via email or twitter depending on the details they leave and will have 1 week to respond or they will forfeit the prize and another winner will be drawn. a Rafflecopter giveaway

‘Perfection’, because we are always looking for that perfect, but elusive colour whenever we decorate. We moved 12 months ago and are slowly decorating room by room. I say slowly because when we did the living room it took weeks – firstly hours poring over the paint colour books, then ages in the DIY shop choosing. Then the colour we chose and painted the room with – we went off it the next day. We re-painted 3 more times till we were happy with the colour…. well when I say happy… we don’t love it but have decided to live with it…
