I’m a big fan of Instagram. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I love that combination of pretty photos and little snippets of people’s day to day lives.
I had lots of fun sharing photos of my Spring Garden earlier in the year when everything was busting into life and it’s great to be able to capture and share little moments with the boys.
I haven’t been taking so many photos since I went back to work in June but now that job is coming to an end I’m setting myself a challenge for the rest of August and I’d love it if you joined in. I’ve produced a list of 20 ‘topics’ (which you can find below) and I’m going to try a take a photo for each of them before the end of the month, so roughly one a day give or take, to get me back in the habit. If you’d like to have a go to then here’s what you need to do:
- Take photos on instagram in any order you feel like
- When you publish them include the #InstaHuntAug hashtag and the hashtag of the topic that photo is for (eg #colour) so others can find it
- Publish it to twitter as well if you like
- Click on the hashtags to see what other people have shared and if you like them don’t forget to leave a like or a comment or follow that person.
It’s a bit like an Instagram scavenger hunt as you can do them in any order and as frequently as you like, just try to do them all by the end of the month. You can be as literal or as abstract as you like with the topics, so your photo for ‘family’ could be a portrait of your own family, a family of ducks in the park or a collection of similar pebbles arranged as a group, whatever you fancy.
At the end of August I’ll put a linky so everyone can share how they’ve got on or their favourite photo but that’s not obligatory.
So what do you think? Fancy giving it a go with me? Here’s my first photo for today. I’ve gone for #Flower, a nice easy one to find.
