After quite a few years of growing veg in our little city garden I’ve decided to give flowers a go this year. I started with bulbs thinking even I can’t mess them up but hadn’t banked on the crazy weather this spring. My snowdrops tried to come up to early because Christmas was so mild and then got clobbered by the repeated snow, the alliums seem to be a bit delayed and the ranunculus are nowhere to be seen. One thing has been doing well are all the tulips, they’re huge.
I’m also loving the trees. The Acer (Maple) has finally started opening its leaves, the plum tree is covered in blossom, the ancient apple tree appears to have survived another winter and even my tiny pot bound cherry tree is doing it’s best. Bring it on summer!

Epic offerings! I love the tulips – so flipping colourful!
Right, I’m coming to sit in your garden and drink gin now…

Thanks for hosting big Mamma! You’re welcome in my garden anytime but best bring your own gin, just in case.
Love the colour at this time of year.
Yep, no need for subtlety in the spring.
loooks very nice, hope you get plenty fruit of your trees. fruit trees are on the cards for us before next spring.
Thanks Elaine. After a rubbish crop last year the apple tree is looking promising so far. Lots of leaves and buds.
Gorgeous sunny photo’s! I love tulips x
I usually love whatever manages to survive (I’m fickle!) so tulips are top of my list this year. 😉
beautiful tulips, your garden is lovely, mine’s a gin with mammasauraus please, hold the ice!
Thank you, the more the merrier (although it might get a little cosy)
I love tulips, and the ones I planted last year are looking fab at the moment. Looking forward to seeing more of your garden 🙂
It’s great that they keep coming back year after year. Most of mine were newly planted last autumn but the yellow and red ones have been going for 4 years now, just brilliant.
Loving all the colour and those tulips are fantastic! Heading over from How does your garden grow 🙂
Thanks Charly.
I just love love love tulips they are so blousey and beautiful and yours are exceptional.
Thanks Helen, the tulips are definitely my success story of the year so far.
Tulips are quite possibly my most favourite flower ever. Those are BEAUTIFUL! x
What a beautiful selection, so colourful and bright. We particularly like your trees! Have you had any luck with the alliums and the rununculus at all?
