My boys love music. They love singing and dancing along and are always asking me to tell them the words (which isn’t always a good thing given the lyrics of some pop songs). This week though I haven’t had to worry about swearing or explaining why that girl crashed her car into a bridge (‘wouldn’t that hurt, mummy?’) because I’ve been sent a CD of kids pop music from Zeamu.
Zeamu’s founder says:
We wanted to try and create some really great, original pop tunes for kids that they could feel cool listening to, that had lyrics about topics they think and care about and that their parents wouldn’t mind listening to on a 5 hour car journey!
They’ve pulled together a team that has previously worked with the likes of Girls Aloud, Damon Albarn, Sugababes & Block Party and have made pop music about topics that matter to kids, school, friends, bullying, family. They also have a sense of humour. My personal favourite is ‘Doing the Robot’, a song about being mortified by your parents strutting their stuff on the dance floor. The boys have really enjoyed the CD and E has been busting out some imaginative break dance moves all afternoon.
The music, which you can get on CD or download, is support by a range of resources on the website including printables for colouring, lyric sheets and even party invitations all featuring the Zeamu characters.
If you’d like to be in with a chance of winning a copy of the CD just leave me a comment telling me your favourite pop song from your childhood and record your entry in the rafflecopter widget along with any additional entries you’d like to make. The giveaway will run until Monday 2nd September 2013.
