Today – Fun days out for kids in the UK, attractions for families. A list to help you pick a great childrens day out.
So I think it’s safe to say this summer won’t be filled with international travel. As a family travel blogger that’s obviously a huge disappointment. On the other hand, it does give us all a chance to investigate the great UK attractions for families. I’ve collected up some fun days out for kids from some lovely family bloggers. You’re sure to find a childrens day out to suit your family.
10 Fun Days Out For Kids
York
York is packed full of things to do and makes a great family day out. We particularly loved the Castle Museum and Dig but you can read about all the things we did during our trip in our post on things to do in York with kids. You can also explore the wider Yorkshire area with these great ideas from We’re Going On An Adventure.
Portmeirion
This Welsh village has to be seen to be believed and the whole family will enjoy exploring. Well I Guess This Is Growing Up shared her experience of visiting Portmeirion.
Cadbury World
A day out that covers history and loads of chocolate. What’s not to like? Check out this post from Plutonium Sox on her trip to Cadbury World.
Anglesey
A little bit of a trek depending on where you live but Anglesey is worth the trip. Of course, the beaches and coastal paths are fabulous but there’s lots more for a family to do. The Ladybird Adventures tells all in their post on Anglesey.
Sea Life Centre, Birmingham
You can get up close to so many amazing creatures at the Sea Life Centre. Personally, I really LOVE the otters, so cute! Mummy to Dex spills the beans on their trip.
Rock Pooling
A classic childhood memory, you can’t beat poking about in rock pools. So Flip Flops and Wellies shares the best places for rock pooling in Devon and Dorset.
Peak District
Visiting Buxton and the Peak District was a lovely weekend away. I wrote this post about things to do in Buxton. I’d especially recommend Pooles Cavern. It was amazing! Also, Chatsworth House has everything you could want in a family day out. There’s history, an adventure playground, farm, all sorts of food options and beautiful, extensive gardens. So don’t miss it!
Essex
Counting to Ten has a great list of things to do in Essex for all the family.
Harry Potter Studio Tour
If your kids are Harry Potter fans (and I think that is pretty much all of them!) the Harry Potter Studio Tour is an amazing day out. Sally from Who’s the Mummy tells all on how to make the most of the day.
