Are you up for a challenge?
April is the month for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. You can find all the details by clicking one of their funky badges but essentially it’s a bit like NaBloPoMo with an alphabet theme. Starting today you pledge to blog everyday in April (except the other Sundays) and work your way through the letters of the alphabet as your prompt for each post. Today is A, tomorrow B etc. They can be any type of post you like, photos, fiction, poetry, recipes, and there is a separate list for people vlogging their way through the alphabet.
I stumbled across this earlier in the year. I wasn’t sure if I’d manage it having gone back to work but at the last minute I’ve decided to give it a try. I really enjoyed taking part in NaBloPoMo in November and found some fab new blogs to follow as a result of dropping in on some other participants. There are well over 1600 people from all blogging genres signed up to the A-Z Challenge this year so I bet I’ll find some goodies in there.
If you want to get involved, maybe you think you need a bit of a blogging kick start, like a challenge or just want to find some new buddies, the sign up linky will stay open until tomorrow night. If that doesn’t sound tempting enough as it is the challenge also has the most stellar array of badges I have ever seen for a linky. Seriously, even if you don’t want to take part it’s worth visiting just to check out their badges! There’s one for every taste and I might try and use a different one each day as an additional challenge. Do let me know if you are going to give it a try so I can come and visit.
So there you have it, my rather unimaginative start for the letter A: The A-Z Challenge.
Check back tomorrow to see if I manage to keep it up.

Good luck! Not sure I could keep it up for a month… tempted…

Thanks, I’m hoping with the odd photo and a bit of poetic licence I’ll make it through. Go on, give it a try if only for the badges.

Hmmmmm *scratches chin* tempting
Cat says
I think as long as you give yourself the odd easy day it should be quite fun. NaBloPoMo was nowhere near as stressful as I thought it would be once I got started.
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
You can do it! B is tomorrow.
Cat says
Thanks Alex, good luck.
Jemima Pett says
Good luck Cat! Have fun with the rest of the alphabet 🙂
Cat says
Thank you, you too.
Michael Cargill says
Good lord, that sounds devilishly tricky.
I wonder how many crass ‘I can’t keep it up for that long’ jokes have been made so far.
Cat says
Nothing of the sort, all squeaky clean and wholesome here as ever!
Little Miss says
Oo I want to try! I need an incentive to blog a day. I’m slacking awfully!
Is today ‘A’? Then no blogging on the other Sunday’s? (sorry just to check)
Cat says
Yep, that’s right. I think there’s a list of dates for each letter in the sidebar on Challenge blog. Good luck!
Andrew says
Well, starting is a good place to start. You can’t start if you don’t.
Cat says
Very true, good luck Andrew.

I’m doing the Challenge for the first time too – new to blogging as well. I’m only thinking one letter at a time! Good luck
Cat says
Thanks, you too. I really should have thought about drafting some ahead but nevermind, I’m sure we’ll get there.
scribblesfromjenn says
It will be fun and we get to meet so many new people.
