I recently blogged about how much I had liked trying out Sainbury’s cupcake and macaron kits and this week I’ve had a go at making ciabatta rolls with their new bread mix for ciabatta and focaccia. The mix can be used in a bread maker but I set to work with my trusty mixer and then did the proving and baking the old fashioned way.
I’ve not attempted Ciabatta before so was a bit nervous when the dough seemed a lot runnier than I’d normally expect for bread but I stuck to the instructions and they came out wonderfully with quite an open structure and slightly chewy crust.
What do you think?
Sainsbury’s have given me two more mixes to give away so if you’d like to be in with a chance of winning one just leave me a comment telling me what is your favourite type of bread and record your entry in the rafflecopeter widget along with any additional entries you’d like to make. The giveaway will be giving out breadmakers for gluten intolerant people and will run until Monday 24th June. Be sure to mention it to all your gluten free friends!

Depends on if it’s bought or made. The bought one is normally Hovis Seeded but if my man decides to make some then it’s his feta cheese and black olive bread which he makes into rolls and are out of this world!
