This week as part of a sponsored post Collective Bias® I’ve had the arduous responsibility of roadtesting Bombay Sapphire Gin Cocktails, not exactly my hardest assignment ever. I love the pretty blue bottle that always stands out like a jewel on the supermarket shelf, isn’t it beautiful?
Now I’m partial to a splash of Mother’s Ruin, particularly with some lemonade, but I thought knocking up some cocktails would be a fun way to try out the Bombay Sapphire. I’m nothing if not thorough! After picking up a bottle at my ever reliable local Sainsburys along with a few other bits and pieces, I started with a bit of research on thebar.com to get some ideas. They had a wealth of suggestions and I could have quite happily tried dozens but I tried not to get carried away in my enthusiasm so here are my three absolute favourites for you to try at home.
My top 3 Gin Cocktails
Gin & Apple Mojito
- 35ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
- 25ml Lime Juice
- 15ml Sugar Syrup
- 35ml Apple Juice
- 10 Fresh Mint Leaves
This was my favourite of the lot, really refreshing and light and something I’d never have thought to try. The mint leaves are roughly shredded and mixed into a glass full of crushed ice. The liquid ingredients are combined (in a cocktail shaker should you feel so inclined) and then poured over the ice. Delicious!
Bramble
- 35ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
- 25ml Lemon Juice
- 10ml Sugar Syrup
- 10ml Raspberry & Blackcurrant Cordial
- A Raspberry
A Bramble would normally use a blackberry liquor but I went with the cordial to make it a bit less strong. It was fruity and summery, another winner. The fresh raspberry is mashed up with the crushed ice in a tumbler and the remaining ingredients mixed and poured over. A couple of berries for a garnish won’t hurt either.
Rose 75
- 25ml Bombay Sapphire Gin
- 10ml Lemon Juice
- 5ml Sugar Syrup
- Rose Prosecco
This is a slightly girlier twist on the traditional French 75. The gin, lemon and syrup are mixed in the bottom of a champagne flute and then topped up with rose prosecco rather than the usual champagne. It feels like a special treat drinking anything out of a champagne flute and this is no exception.
So overall it is safe to say the Bombay Sapphire Gin went down very well in my house. Crisp, dry and very versatile, it’s been a welcome addition to our drinks cabinet. I can definitely see myself treating guests to an Apple Mojito or two over Christmas and suggest you give them a try too, you won’t be disappointed.

I have never tried gin & prosecco but I’m happy to give it a go for research purposes! 😉
