This time last year I did a little round up of 2012 by picking a post from each month. It was a lovely way to look back over the year and I had great fun looking through my old posts as well as all the posts of other bloggers who were kind enough to link up and share what they’d been up to so I thought I’d have another go. So here it is:
My 2013 in Posts
January – My hope for 2013 was to make a concerted effort to be happy and one of my first posts of the year was all about my approach to making a plan for that.
February – This month seemed to be all about cooking, especially baking, while I attempted to reduce our cholesterol intake and my favourite recipe was Skinny Blueberry Muffins with Lemon Icing. Yummy and guilt free!
March – This was another food heavy month as we got ready for Easter. The boys and I made these super cute Coconut Easter Nests instead of the usual chocolate crispy variety and they were a huge hit.
April – I love sharing tips and advice on Yellow Days and one of my most popular posts has been this collection of book recommendations from bloggers of books for parents to read with their toddlers and preschoolers when they are expecting a new baby. Which books would you recommend?
May – As the weather perked up my thoughts turned to the garden and how to get the kids involved in gardening now they are a bit older.
June – I was sent a great recipe for Marmalade Cake with Caramelised Oranges this month. Definitely one I’d recommend if you don’t mind expanding your waistline a little.
July – I had another tips post this month that really surprised me with how popular it became, particularly on Pinterest. Hubs will probably think the idea of me giving romantic advice is hilarious but I thought I’d share my tips for date nights on a budget.
September – Having got back in to the habit of Instagramming in August I rounded up my Instahunt challenge at the beginning of September with a collection of my favourite snaps.
October – Normally all about Halloween, this October also saw a bit of a labour of love as I collected up 150 Apple Recipes from all over the place to help me use up the crop from our tree. So many ideas that I’ve got plenty to come back to next year.
November – There is one appliance I can’t do without this time of year, my slow cooker, and this post is all about why they are so brilliant for busy families and my top tips for using one.
December – Going out with a bang, my favourite post from December was all about road testing gin cocktail recipes. It’s a hard life!
I’d love to see what you’ve all been up to in 2013 so it would be great if you wanted link up your own review of the year. You can use my format of one post per month, pick out your favourites around a theme or just tell your story however suits you. If you’d like to grab the badge below or point your readers over here in some other way then that would be fab but it’s not compulsory. Do try and visit some of the other participants if you can though, you never know what gems you might find.
Happy New Year!

Lovely round up honey. Happy 2014! x
I wasn’t going to do one of these, but I really like the reflection and a story of your year idea. Might join in soon
What a lovely year filled with new challenges and experiences. I hope that you bring back some of your fab Instagram hunts this year as I really enjoyed them x
You managed to do this so much more succinctly than me Cat, I’m going for a read of your January post now. Happy new year, Mich x
Great round up. I am inspired to make an Angel Food Cake. x
