As you might have guessed by the flurry of activity on the blog, I’m taking part in NaBloPoMo. Yep, you read that right, it’s short for National Blog Posting Month. It just means that I’m challenging myself to post at least once a day throughout November. Well I’m half way through now and so far I’ve managed to keep up with posting everyday. I’ve taken the easy option occasionally with a Silent Sunday but there’s also been the contentious issue of elective C-sections, how to publish a blog on Kindle and my thoughts on my birthday along with a few memes, some photos and even a music video. Variety is the spice of life after all. Here’s a full run down on my NaBloPoMo posts:
- Should women be allowed to demand a C-section?
- What Halloween looks like at our house
- The Gallery: T only stands for one thing in this house
- Dear So and So: The Coveted Toy Edition

- Publishing your blog on Kindle for the technophobe

But is this a good idea? It’s obviously got me posting more. My stats have gone up a bit and people are still commenting. It’s nice to be sharing the challenge with lots of other bloggers who are doing the same. On the other hand the pressure to post something has taken a bit of the fun out of blogging. Also, once I’ve written a post I normally wait until the following day to post it and have a quick read through it before I do but I haven’t been able to do that. It definitely increases the chance of me accidentally posting something inappropriate on the spur of the moment. Stand by for the graphic details of my next argument with Hubs or 500 words on why I love Hawaii 50. Most annoyingly I’ve had much less time for reading and commenting on other blogs which has always been half the fun of blogging for me.
So fellow NaBloPoMoers, how are you finding it? Do you think you’ll make it to the 30th?

Funnily enough i had planned to use one if my days as a reflection looking back on this month and all the posting. I havent found it too bad so far, its just meant cramming lots of ideas down during the day, trying to comment on bligs – old and newly found ones – and writing a couple of posts a night so i have a spare should i have a night where i cant blig due to kids or something!
I have enjoyed it and feel i have written some of my best posts to date BUT by posting evety day maybe they havent had the chance to be read??
Anyway i will try to look through some if your posts so far later – unless i have as cannot remember off top of my head
Keep on blogging its only same says left again now xx
Ps bligs should be blogs stupid small keys on iphone!! X
I hadn’t thought about people possibly not having the chance to read them as well, good point. Good luck for the rest of the month. x
Hello lovely…a great question and great thoughts on it from you and Jenny alike. I have been totally fine with posting every day UNTIL TODAY. I have 17 days until Bebe is to be delivered. I have my Dad and Stepmom here helping us with our Project Changing Rooms and am trying to do too much. My fat ankles are the result! Up until this week I have had posts scheduled and ready to go and now suddenly I feel like I might be grinding to a halt which makes me feel guilty!
I usually post every day during the week, do Saturday is Caption Day on Sat. and then take Sunday off. Occasionally I miss a day during the week but now I can’t and it’s a bit exhausting. I’ll push through though and do my best. This week is a bit tricky as we have my family here but otherwise, I should be able to get back on track…but it is a very good question…
🙂 Karin
I don’t know how you manage it all at the moment. I hope you’re squeezing in some time with your feet up! x
I guess I blog most days anyway but some drafts have not been published on days where I got caught up with little things like having a family life lol
I probably average about 5 times a week normally so it’s not that much more, it’s just the removal of that bit of flexibility to fet in other stuff that makes it a bit awkward. Still glad I’m giving it a go though.
It is a very good point. I am not taking part as I KNOW I just could not commit to it as really don’t have the time just now. I am even struggling to keep up with a lot of my favourite blogs as the posts are coming from every direction. I think there is a risk of quality maybe decreasing slightly, though obviously not yours my dear as you are fab. I know that had I tried it though that this would be inevitable. I also think, like you, that I would enjoy it far less. I get enough pressure from the real world without the things I like to do then adding to it. That is why I didn’t take part. But for those of you that did, go you! You are halfway there now so you can do it! Keep blogging sisters….and the odd brother.
We’ll get there *unconvincing positive face*
Apart from the mahoosive wobble this weekend (which then resulted in one of my most honest posts) it’s been going ok. I’ve managed to get to the point of having posts ‘ready to go’ and have got involved with things I didn’t think would suit the Cheetahs and ‘their’ blog. Now it’s ‘our’ blog – and I hope the quality and content are appealing. I still have my doubts about what I’m doing but NaBloPoMo is offering a great learning experience and for that, I’m very grateful!
I guess getting ahead of yourself is the key. Haven’t quite managed that yet.
Ah you’re doing great, don’t let the pressure get to you – remember it’s SUPPOSED to be fun and if you’re not enjoying it – then stop it! No one will judge you. If I’m honest, I’ve found it quite easy so far (even been posting more than once a day) but I don’t know why, and it’s probably to my detriment as my eyes go and my fingers go… I’ve totally just jinxed it now. Tomorrow it’ll all come undone! Doooooom
Keep going XxX
More than once a day?!?!?! You are the NaBloPoMo Queen!
It looks quite hard! I’m not doing it but it looks a big challenge. I normally post about 3 times a week and that includes a Silent Sunday, unless I’ve gone meme mad during a particular week! Good luck!
Thank you, I’m enjoying it really.
It’s not been too hard considering I post 5 days a week already… however I feeeeel the pressure to post which I am not sure I like much!
Also I think it’ll muff up my Tots100 score which already dropped like a stone this month 🙁
Otherwise BRING IT ON!
That’s the spirit!
As yet I haven’t felt under that much pressure and I really think I’ve written some of my best posts this month.
The problem I have is that I write late at night and so end up hitting publish with about 1 hour left of the day! If I could just get ahead and schedule them the night before that would be great!
I’m loving it – well done to those joining us!
Yes, I think if I’d been more organised about planning it I’d probably be enjoying it more.
You are doing really well! I didn’t even try as I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it!
Thank you. Maybe you should try for next year?
I found it pretty easy to begin with, I think maybe Im running out of things to write about a little. Im not sure its done any good for my blog though, I tyhink writing too many posts has meant that people havent had a chance to read everything and therefore Im not getting many comments. My stats have gone up, but I would rather have the interaction of commenting than more people reading. Youre doing brilliantly, I missed out two days but managed the rest. Its definately made me think about posting more in the future and its been a good challenge.
